Porazinski is my mother's maiden name. The history of this family branch is both sad and uncertain. My great grandfather was Jan Porazinski. He came to the U.S. from Poland sometime in the early to mid-1870's.  I'm not sure where in Poland he came from or when he arrived here.  I found a marriage record for him in 1876, so he was in Milwaukee by that time. Jan's first wife, Josephine Suminski, died in 1893. They had four children together: John, Julia, Michael and Katarina..  John and Michael both died as young children.  Jan remarried later in 1893 to Josephine Napietak .  This second wife was my great grandmother. Jan and his second wife had three more children: Helena, Dominic and Walter.  Helena died as an infant.  Dominic was my grandfather.   Jan's second wife, Josephine, died tragically in 1898 leaving him a widower for the second time.  Jan Porazinski died in 1912 and is buried at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee. His wives are both buried at Calvary Cemetery in Milwaukee.  Dominic (Tom) married Margaret Schott (my grandmother) in 1936. Dominic and Margaret has one child, my mother Mary.  Sadly, Dominic Porazinski died in 1958, so I never knew him.  Presently, there are very few relatives bearing the last name Porazinski.
