Young Artist Competition $500 winner. James Waldo is a senior at UW-Madison pursuing a Bachelor's of Music in Cello Performance under the guidance of Uri Vardi, his teacher. James enjoys playing chamber music and gardening.

About the MFSO |
|
The Menomonee Falls Symphony Orchestra (formerly known as the Milwaukee Catholic Symphony Orchestra from 1942 to 1998) has a tradition of quality music making.
Through the effort, support and dedication of Robert J. Steliga, President of the Menomonee Falls Festival Corporation, the Orchestra is now part of the Menomonee Falls Community.
The objectives of the Orchestra are to:
Promote appreciation of classical symphonic music for audiences and playing musicians.
Provide an opportunity for young artists and professional soloists to appear in concert with symphonic accompaniment.
Make available an educational and an enjoyable opportunity for you, your children and your friends.
Open membership in this community orchestra to all capable adults. Auditions are held in September.

Meet the Maestro |
Michael F. Kamenski, Music Director and Conductor,
received his Master's Degree in symphonic and operatic conducting from the Conservatory of Music in Warsaw, Poland.
Following his studies, he was appointed Music Director of the Conservatory Orchestra in Warsaw and guest conducted numerous orchestras including the Warsaw Philharmonic. He premiered a Polish Opera by Kaminski in the State Opera House of Warsaw.
Locally, Mr. Kamenski has conducted the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. He has participated in conducting workshops with various conductors including Daniel Barenboim.
Additionally, he has worked as a Staff Arranger at Hal Leonard Publishing and arranged and orchestrated a symphonic ballet for Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montreal.
Currently, he is Director of Liturgy and Music at St. Sebastian Church in Milwaukee and has been on the music faculty at Alverno College in Milwaukee since 1992. He was recently commissioned to compose the Alma Mater for Alverno College.
Mr. Kamenski Directed the MFSO since 1987, is married to Sheri and has boys Martin, Brian and Paul.

Musicians |
Auditions - First two Mondays of September Rehearsals, 7:30 p.m., will be open rehearsals. All musicians from the greater Milwaukee Metro area are welcome. Auditions will be held after rehearsals. Please be prepared to play a selection of your choice at the audition. The MFSO performs five scheduled concerts per season, both classical and pops. Rehearsals are held at the Menomonee Falls Junior HS, N88 W16750 Garfield Dr., Menomonee Falls. Further information from Michael Kamenski, Director, 414-453-1928.
