President's Letter
February, 2012
At last, with Sharon Schmidt's help, we have a new and very much improved URL. For the uninitiated, that's a website address. Our new
web site address is: JazzUnlimitedMke.Org.
If you have the old address in your "Favorites", you can continue to go there - you'll automatically be directed to the new address.
Add us to your Favorites.
As you know I have tried to give you a "feel" for the current Milwaukee Jazz Scene with pictures and captions. It was my hope
that seeing the great variety of venues and talented musicians available would encourage you to get out and see and hear for yourself. Now, as promoted on the
cover, our Social Committee is providing an additional incentive to get our members and, hopefully, potential new members, out to enjoy local, live Jazz. This is our raison
d'etre (reason for being)! Jazz Unlimited only exists to keep Jazz alive. We do that by providing young musicians who have shown an interest in Jazz Performance with
scholarships to pursue that goal and by providing a supportive audience for their performances. Many of the local Jazz performers now active in the Milwaukee area
were recipients of our scholarships. Now, after all that hard work and long hours of practice, they need an appreciative audience. Be an active member, get out and
support live jazz performance.
Please let me hear from you!
Augie Ray
