About Stoughton Hospital
Dr. Iverson founded the Stoughton Surgical Hospital in 1904. Dr. Iverson's
philosophy was that much more personalized care is possible in the smaller
hospital. Almost a century later, this philosophy is unchanged.
With Dr. Iverson's retirement, the hospital became a community enterprise.
In 1924, Stoughton Hospital Association was incorporated to operate as
a non-profit hospital. Culminating years of community planning and fund-raising,
major modernization projects were undertaken in 1948, 1956, 1976 and 1995
keeping the hospital current with the demands of the times.
Today, Stoughton Hospital is a fully accredited, 69-bed medical and
surgical facility. The medical staff includes board-certified physicians
in family practice, internal medicine, general surgery, orthopedics, obstetrics,
and gynecology, ophthalmology, pathology, radiology, otolaryngology, plastic
surgery and urology.
Stoughton Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation
of Health Care Organizations, licensed by the state of Wisconsin, a member
of the Wisconsin Hospital Association, and Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative.
