This is a caricature of me when playing the role of Orin in a production of Children of a Lesser God, a dramaticand informative play that examines many of the challenges andcontroveries in the deaf community. I played a young deaf man(traditionally the roles of deaf characters in this play are filled by deaf actors, but the original castmember had to leave the productionand I was called in at the last moment when the producer wasunable to find another deaf actor for the role.)

In the drawing, which was done by Betsy McNeely, I am signing the word "Radical", an appropriate word for the character.for Orin.
