2009 has sure been an interesting year thus far! I graciously accepted GE Healthcare's generous offer in January of this year (2009) to involuntarily depart from the corporate world after 22+ years... while I'd far rather be back inside, have sort of settled down after several months of mumbling (!) and am taking some college classes. The GE finanacial package continues to support Wisconsin's Unemployment weekly payments since I went off payroll in late April, and will do so until January. Am also working to spend several thousand that GE has offered for tutition reimbursement -- if you know of any good jobs... ?

So, the house! We did finish building the house in the fall of 2004 & moved
in just before Christmas that year…Sandy & I were "kicking that
dog" about a new house for several years & finally got lucky with a
nice place in the country to create something that's all "ours" – Palace
in Nirvana!! Everything is the way we want it, instead of making changes to
someone else's house…seems like Don recalls this being a "hobby" of
someone we know (smoking his pipe) a couple dozen years ago in Enfield,
London?? ;-)

- Given the 17-dozen snaps that Don's been taking (!), we decided to build a viewer for a selection of snaps… This will continue to grow as things get done!
- Planning to visit? Take a peek at the directions here (use the MIE "back" key to return)…Our development is called "Lake Five Estates" – click on the "overhead map" & look for "Lot 10". This triangular lot is an acre & a half on a southeast-facing hillside, with the widest part of the lot at the bottom of the hill. We're surrounded by common grounds, making the area almost 3 acres.

rough ground, behind the grass area, near some of our neighbors (all of whom we have now met!), but
not too close…

Some years ago, Don spent many an hour thinking about "interesting stuff" & loading a Bio page to share a bit of a historical look; Sandy may do something like this when she has a little spare time at some point! If you have another hour or two on your hands after the bio, try the Shave Family Tree (secure server; ask Don for access) & Don's little photo album…all built up over several years.
A couple years back, two "complete strangers" were independently researching web stuff for their own family tree & came across Don's collection in 2003… they both shared huge amounts of invaluable additional information, which Don captured, along with some stuff from others. View several generations of Cousin Georgie Greening's Jolliffe Branch (the history of Don's Dad's Mum, going back to the 1700's) as well as Cousin Geoff Beck's Ruddlesdin Branch (the history of Don's Mum's Nan-Nan) with a collection of extra stuff to view…if you have Broadband access & PowerPoint enabled, this alternate view is worth 5 minutes! Happy clambering around!

A large number of technical reference sites exist on web pages around the world...Don tucked a few into his GE collection. Some other sites and (perhaps) interesting information are captured in Don's GE definitions page and you can also take a peek at Don's captured interviewing thoughts for some eGuidance. Don started Creative Logic Software in the mid-80's; a private computer consulting business.
There may be more to come here as we refold things around the site!!
