Sandy & I are just back from
our annual Warm-Winter-Week, which was in Jamaica this year. We
stayed at
a Fantastic resort
called Breezes, Runaway Bay… beach view from our room:
The weather was great all
week with loads of sun except for one cloudy day where I
managed to crisp up my sunburn very nicely!!
We pretty much "powered down"
& just relaxed on the wonderful white beach…

We read books or watched the ocean
(or the occasionally "yummy+" view; no pix!) all day with a couple of
side trips out. Food was really pretty good too; eating outside most evenings
under the stars was especially romantic. Our favorite lunch was from Henry's Jamaica
Jerk Chicken
on the
beach… We needed a couple of beers ( cool++ ! ) with a close second of early
morning coffee and freshly-made omelets ( OK... maybe 9-ish! )
We spent one day away from the
resort in Ocho Rios, a town about 30 minutes from the resort.
We did a little shopping in the cash-only market, visited the Dunn's River
Falls & had a really nice guided wander thru some beautiful gardens at Shaw
Park, which is on the mountainside overlooking the town. Both of these are on
the eLink; be sure to click on the small images to see some of the wonderful
views!
Our other trip was a 2-hour sunset
cruise on a 6-man crew 30' tri-hull catamaran (see one like it on the eLink) out on the
ocean with plenty of beer & fruit rum++ drinks...
Just
wonderful except for the waves, which were occasionally a little too “bouncy”
leaving me on the hairy edge of spilling the beer I had drunk! The waves were
really exciting, though. Just like a crazy carnival ride!
One big wave splashed all over
most everyone and tagged my camera a little more than it could tolerate... I'm
looking for a repair shop now, as it won't power on at all. Oh well...
Well, that's about it for the travel report! Hope you enjoyed it… Love, Don & Sandy
