Provisions for Solomon's Court
Solomon used daily (1 Kings 4.22-23):
- 195,720 bushels of flour
- 391,440 bushels of meal
- 30 cattle
- 100 sheep (besides deer, gazelles, roebucks, and fatted fowl)
Solomon's consecration offerings (1 Kings 8.5, 63):
- "so many sheep and oxen that they could not be numbered" plus
- 22,000 oxen
- 120,000 sheep
Solomon's Personnel (1 Kings 5.13-16; 11.3):
- 180,000 people in forced labor were used to build the temple
- 3,300 supervisors of the work
- 700 wives
- 300 concubines
For Hiram king of Tyre, annually (1 Kings 5.11):
- 125,000 bushels of wheat
- 1,215 gallons of olive oil
