HICKORY vs. MICHIGAN
Hickory defeats Michigan four games to two!
Hickory holds serve at home with a 109-99 victory behind the aforementioned MVP Cliffy who had 32. Even with a 21-7 offensive rebounding edge, poor shooting and fouls did the Panthers in for game #1. Only Mario Elie could manage better than 50% from the floor.

GAME # 5 BOXSCORE
Michigan came out firing and threw a normally strong 33 points in Q1, but Hickory in an effort to avoid a Game #7 was "INFUEGO" and threw up 41 big ones to not only take an 8 point lead, but put a hurtin on the chins of the Panthers. Coach Jones shook his head in disbelief, saying "anytime we put up 33, I expect to be leading by 8 or more not down by 8." Michigan kept it close heading into half time, but the Dads came out looking for blood in Q3 and pushed the lead out to 23 by the end of the quarter. Foul trouble really plaqued Michigan as Russell fouled out only playing 12 minutes and Dyess and Kidd had 4 heading into the 4th quarter. Coach Jones must have had a Lomardi-esque speech in between quarters as Michigan scored the first 9 points and got as close as 11 before finally running out of steam and bowing 123-103. McDyess and Schrempf were strong scoring 26 and 25 but got no help. EJ again led Hickory with 33.
