1999-00 APBA AWARDS

THE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

For the third time in his career, Karl Malone was named the APBA Player-Of-The-Year.  Malone was second in the league in scoring at 27.6 ppg and also averaged 8.6 rpg.  He also led his team, Lake Grant, all the way to the finals, but the third time in his career, came up short, failing to get that coveted APBA ring.

THE COACH OF THE YEAR

For the second time since joining APBA as an expansion coach, Stephen Craw was voted by his peers as the Coach-Of-The-Year.  Craw's boys finished the regular season with the best record and went onto to win the Championship just two years after their last title, and after being the second worst team in the league last season.  Congratulations, Stephen on another fine season!

THE ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

In one of the closest finishes in league history, Paul Pierce edged out Vince Carter for Rookie-Of-The-Year honors.  Paul Pierce led his team in scoring at 22.4 ppg while also averaging 6.3 rpg and shooting a deadly 44.4% from three-point-land.  Pierce was the 5th selection in the Rookie/Free Agent Draft last season.
