The design must match the special wood chosen - with the flow and use of the room.  Though 10"-15" wide clear hardwood boards have a magnificence of their own, an artistic design can make them even more special.  A soapstone stove is the center of attention in this room on the left.  A section of incredible wavy grain red oak glistens in the glow of the flames at night.  A walnut accent strip surrounds the figured wood, then shoots off to focus attention to the view  of the secluded valley - just out the huge picture windows.  Sitting areas and travel patterns in the Great Room are defined by the huge panels of white oak and red oak planks.
