This is a general guide for crop tree spacing at the completion of an improvement harvest.  (High quality sites may support much higher stocking levels)  This will give crop trees adequate room to grow for another ten years or so. Use this guide along with your stands diameter growth information to make specific crop tree management decisions.

Among the crop trees in any forest will be other trees of all sizes that add significantly to the make-up of the stand.  Many factors go into the actual decisions for any particular forest.  Forest owners should learn the important principles of long term forest management to insure that their best interests are being maintained throughout the future of their forest's productivity.  Only the forest owner can make the best decisions for their forest's future.
