WI DPI Standards Addressed by Science and Puppets

 

Science and Puppets was created to present an entertaining and educational overview of major scientific developments of the last 1000 years and to show kids what it takes to be a scientist. Each of the scientists talk about the major contribution for which they are known. Besides the obvious historical and biographical value, each character also stresses an important scientific theme. These main concepts are listed below.

Copernicus explains how careful, meticulous work and writing are important for science.

The scientific process of developing theories and conducting research to prove them is discussed. Copernicus and the sun-centered solar system illustrates how science can clash with accepted beliefs and demand great personal sacrifices from scientists.
