WASHO: 2001

Washo has been referred to as "Golden Boy" because of the gold color on his back and the back of his ears. His name was selected from a drawing to name the cubs of 2001. The name Washo means "Golden One". He always tries to be the first up to the fence to greet people that he knows, and he'll try to push his littermate brother, Loki, out of the way. At this point, he appears to be the Alpha male in his enclosure.
