"Children are the flowers of the world."

Magellan Day School, EPL provides highly intelligent children ages preschool through elementary levels with a day school. The school's programs are designed for children who are:

  • curious
  • inventive
  • intrinsically motivated
  • intellectually flexible
The program employs integrated, in-depth curriculum that involves the learner in the processes of inquiry, deliberation, and investigation. Knowledge is acquired when learners are allowed to find and use patterns and relations in math, science, language arts, and the fine arts. Magellan Day School, EPL follows the Holt model for classroom environment, and curriculum development incorporates the problem-based units of study created at The Center for Gifted Education, College of William and Mary. The school also follows the established standards of The Wisconsin Center for Gifted Learners, which allow intellectually able learners to work in an setting that:
  • supports children's diverse and intense learning styles.
  • guides learners through the web of knowledge to synthesis.
  • gives children a format for testing their many hypothetical questions.
  • allows children to learn the merits of technology.
An eight-to-one student/teacher ratio and flexible grouping practices allow for individualized attention to the children.
