Bingo Fundraiser Help Needed

The next Bingo fund raiser is on Friday, December 3rd. The hours are from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Any volunteers are welcome. E-mail me for directions or more information.

A new rotation for Bingo sessions will begin in December. Uniform numbers of the players on the Freshman team, Sophomore team, and JV/Varsity team will be used for each month. Players from the Freshman team will be responsible for the December Bingo session.

Varsity opens with 6 team scrimmage on Saturday, November 13th.


Reminder to all players of the Player/Parent meeting following the 6 team scrimmage at Park on Saturday, November 13 from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. Hartland Arrowhead, New Berlin Eisenhower, Wauwatosa East, Wisconsin Lutheran, Racine Case, and Racine Park will be involved in the scrimmage. Freshman and Sophomore Team players are needed to run the concession stand. Uniforms will also be handed out.

Practice during week two of the season will be from 3:10 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. All practices are in the Park field house.

Former Racine Park Players in College

Former Park Player Kiesha Oliver's Marquette Team opened up the 1999-2000 season with a win over Athletes in Action on Sunday, November 7.

Former Park Player Latonya Sims and the Wisconsin Badgers opened up the 1999-2000 season with a win over Athletes in Action on Tuesday, November 9.

Kiesha and Latonya will go up against each other when Marquette hosts Wisconsin on Wednesday, December 8th. Should be a great game!

Former Park Player Amy Zelinger is beginning her second season at UW-Stout.

Former Park Player Julie Christensen is beginning her first season at Wright State University in Ohio.

Former Park Player Krisey Sanders is beginning her first season at Garden City Community College in Kansas.

Former Park Player, Jody Landish, is the sophomore coach at Lake Zurich, IL and her team was 25 - 1 in 1998-99. Former Park Player, Jenny Waid, is the sophomore coach at Racine St. Cats and her team's record was 17 - 5 in 1998.99.

The varsity team ended it's 1998-99 season in the W.I.A.A. sectional final tournament on Saturday, March 6th against Janesville Parker in the Janesville Parker field house.Nerrissa Dunk The score of the game was 43 - 64. Janesville Parker played a nearly flawless game with 21 point performance of their 6'3 freshman post player, Mistie Bass. Parker also got some good outside shooting from their perimeter players. Parker also enjoyed a decided advantage at the free throw line, making 14 out of twenty-four free throw attempts compared to the 50 per cent free throw shooting of Racine Park, 1 made out of two free throws attempted. The Racine Park varsity concluded the 1998-99 season with a 21 - 3 record. Janesville Parker advanced to the State Tournament in Madison on March 11th but was eliminated in the State Quarterfinals by Appleton North.

The varsity team won the W.I.A.A. sectional semi-final game over Milwaukee Hamilton on Friday, March 5th by a score of 63 - 55. The game was played at Racine Horlick.

The varsity team won the W.I.A.A regional final game over Racine Horlick on Saturday, February 27th by a score of 76 - 43. The game was played at Racine Case.

The varsity team won the W.I.A.A. regional semi-final game against Racine Case on Tuesday, February 23rd by a score of 70 - 34.

The 1998-99 freshman team concluded their season on Friday, February 19th at home against Oak Creek. The freshman team lost a hard fought game by a score of 28 - 48 to finish their season at 10 - 7. The 1998-99 sophomore concluded their season with a 64 - 44 win. The sophomore team capped off an outstanding season with a 19 - 1 record. The 1998-99 varsity team finished the regular season as conference champions in the South division of the Southeast conference with a hard fought 48 - 42 win. Our seniors were honored on this night as Julie Christensen, Krisey Sanders, Jackie Peasley, Shannon Honore, and Aisha Hopkins played their last regular season home game in the Racine Park field house.

The freshman team lost a tough overtime game to Muskego at Muskego on Tuesday, February 16th by a score of 40 - 51. The sophomore team suffered it's first loss of the season by a score of 40 - 55. The varsity team won by a score of 51 - 39.

The freshman, sophomore, and varsity teams had a 3 game sweep over Racine Horlick on Friday, February 12th at the Racine Horlick field house. The freshman game score was 50 - 15. The sophomore team kept it's perfect record, winning by a score of 80 - 12. The varsity team won by a score of 59 - 38.

The freshman team won it's 9th game of the season over Franklin at the Racine Park field house on Tuesday, February 9th by a score of 48 - 36. The sophomore team kept it's perfect record by winning 42 - 29. The varsity team lost a heart-breaking overtime game to Franklin by a score of 67 - 77.

The sophomore and varsity team won a non-conference game over West Bend East at West Bend East on Saturday, February 6th. The sophomore team score was 58 - 34. The varsity team won 73 - 44.

The freshman team had a great comeback but fell just short in their 5th loss of the season against Kenosha Tremper on Friday, February 5th in the Racine Park field house. The freshman game score was 36 - 41. The sophomore team won by a score of 42 - 32. The varsity team played without two starters due to illness and injury and won by a score of 53 - 45.

The freshman, sophomore, and varsity teams had a 3 game sweep over Burlington on Tuesday, February 2nd at the Burlington field house. The freshman game score was 49 - 21. The sophomore game score was 42 - 26. The varsity game score was 54 - 37.

The freshman team lost their 4th game of the season to South Milwaukee on Friday, January 29th at South Milwaukee by a score of 28 - 40. The sophomore team won by a score of 43 - 36. The varsity team won by a score of 57 - 35.

The freshman team lost their 3rd game of the season to Oak Creek on Tuesday, January 26th at Oak Creek by a score of 42 - 55. The sophomore team won by a score of 62 - 20. The varsity team won by a score of 56 - 36.

The sophomore team won by a score of 57 - 20 over Racine Case on January 9th. The freshman team won over Racine Case on January 12th by a score of 53 - 25. The varsity team won over Racine Case on Friday, January 15th by a score of 65 - 35.

JV Team and Frosh B Team

The JV team won their first game at Racine Case on Saturday, December 5th. The score was 56 - 29. They won their second game at Waterford on December 7th. The score was 52 - 31. They lost their first game to St Cats on Saturday, December 12th by a score of 48 - 53. They won their third game against Kenosha Tremper on December 14th by a score of 72 - 40. They won their fourth game of the season against South Milwaukee on December 19th by a score of 53 - 28. They won their fifth game of the season against Franklin on December 28th by a score of 53 - 50. The JV game on January 2nd against Mukwonago was cancelled due to a snow storm. They won their sixth game of the season against Racine Case on January 9th by a score of 47 - 28. The JV game against Mukwonago on January 11th was cancelled due to a snow storm. The JV team won their seventh game against St Cats on January 21st by a score of 47 - 20. The JV team won their eighth game against Waterford on February 1st by a score of 56 - 26. The JV team won their ninth game agaisnt Kenosha Tremper on February 8th by a score of 53 - 34. The JV team won their tenth game of the season against Burlington Catholic Central on February 13th by a score of 49 - 25. The JV team won their 11th game of the season against South Milwaukee on February 20th by a score of 50 - 32. The JV team concluded their season with an 11 - 1 record.

The freshman "B" team won a game at Burlington Catholic Central on Thursday, December 10th by a score of 34 - 14. The freshman "B" team won a game at home against Burlington Catholic Central on Thursday, February 11th by a score of 44 - 21.

In other related basketball news, Paul Aleckson - coach at Schofield DC Everest, and myself are organizing a basketball scholarship for a coaching friend of ours who died in May of 1998. Jeff Kaleas was the girls basketball coach at Mt. Horeb High School and was the co-director of the WCSS (Wisconsin Coaches Basketball Service) basketball camps. We have had many players attend WCSS basketball camps over the years. E-mail me for information on how to make a contribution to this fund. We would appreciate any contributions toward this scholarship fund.
