Highlight of Volga German Trip – Wading in the Volga River (river is similar to the US Mississippi river and the Volga has made this region of Russia renowned as the Bread Basket) My sisters, Norma Pipkin and Paulette Reichert in honor of our grandfather, Isidore Reichert who came over to Kansas from Schoenchen, Russia at the age of 41. He had talked about returning to Russia to swim in the Volga one more time and we came to celebrate his and all our ancestors pioneer spirit, faith & courage in coming to the United States.
