Former TM rails in downtown Milwaukee - May 7, 2005
by Joe Russ
Around May 1 the City of Milwaukee started tearing up Wisconsin Ave. (at Milwaukee St.) for reconstruction, and digging up some some of the old TMER&L trackage in the process. Here is what I found when I went to check it out on Saturday, May 7, 2005.

TM tracks Walking along Wisconsin Ave. I found these pieces of rail. There were also a few rusty (signal?) boxes such as the one in the background by the baracade.

Here is a piece of rail along with the remains of some ties. Notice the metal gauge bars still connected to the rail.
Tracks on Broadway Looking down Broadway across Wisconsin Ave. you can see TM rail in the foreground (bottom of picture), and just above the manhole cover.

A closeup of the track in the previous picture showing the metal gauge bar still in place. Performers on CP Holiday Train
