The Milwaukee Express will include a full schedule for non-rails. Friday night will feature a pair of great clinics. Alice Korach from Kalmbach Publishing's Bead & Button magazine will present a jewelry class where you will be able to make your own necklace (bring your own needle-nose pliers).
George Drury, a favorite at our last convention, returns to present a fabulous
cooking clinic that you won't want to miss. What is he going to demonstrate?
Right now it's even a surprise to us!
Here is the Non-Rail Schedule for Saturday, May 15. Note: The schedule has been

Saturday morning will start with a trip to the Botanical Gardens at Whitnall Park.
From there it'll be off to visit the
Village of Greendale - one of the three greenbelt communities built in the late 1930's during the Roosevelt administration. While there
you will be able to visit the charming downtown area, which has been revamped in recent years. It now features Reiman Publications Visitor Center
(publishers of Country Living and Taste of Home magazines, among others) and Country Store Outlet, various shops offering everything from quilting and
candle-making supplies to bird houses and a Norman Rockwell display. Note: Greendale will be holding its third annual Emerald Event - Greendale Celebrates Oz,
during our visit. It will feature live entertainment, crafts, and appearances by the the original Munchkin celebrities.
A short walking tour of the village and one of the historic original Greendale townhouses is also planned. Take a quick "virtual teaser" of the house!
Lunch (at your expense) will be at Heinemann's Taste of Home
restaurant whose menu features some of the recipes that appear in the Taste of Home
magazine. After lunch we'll head back to the convention hotel so you can either participate in the home layout tours or tour Milwaukee on your own.
In short, the non-rail tour for the Milwaukee Express will be an event your spouse won't want to miss. So bring her along!
