The program features six works, including an early work by Leonard Bernstein, the Clarinet Sonata written in 1941-42; the world premiere of Sigmund Snopek III solo clarinet work entitled Towers, Effigies and Spirits; and an arrangement of Saint-Saens’ Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso, originally for violin. Following intermission, there are two works for bass clarinet, including Wayne Siegel’s Jackdaw with taped accompaniment, and Patrice Sciortino’s jazzy work As-If. November 7, 3 p.m., Wisconsin Conservatory of Music - Matt Schroeder combines forces with percussionist Paul Massey for his annual finger style concert covering original material and instrumental favorites by John Prine, Leo Kottke, Keb’ Mo’, John Fahey, Alex de Grassi and more. Schroeder’s precision fret and finger work afford him wide attention both as an educator and performer. Mr. Schroeder has been on the WCM faculty since 1992 providing private instruction and classes in fingerstyle technique and lead guitar. As a rock guitarist, Mr. Schroeder has performed extensively throughout the Midwest and as a fingerstyle guitarist, studied under John Stropes and holds a BFA with honors in Guitar Performance from UW-Milwaukee.

November 21, 3 p.m., Wisconsin Conservatory of Music - November 21, members of the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music Guitar Faculty put the instrument family together on stage contouring the range and artistry of their solo work. Many of Milwaukee’s finest guitarists will be featured in this concert including Tom Clippert, Steve Grimm, George Lindquist, Don Linke, Mikhail Litvin and Matt Schroeder. Each of these performers also offers private and ensemble instruction at the Conservatory throughout the year. December 3 and 4, 7 p.m., American Madrigal Dinner presents The Chancel Choir of Fox Point Lutheran Church, 7510 N. Santa Monica Blvd. in Fellowship Hall. The night is staged at a Christmas party in Virginia in 1781, two months after the end of the Revolutionary War. Music will consist of hymns of New England and Appalachia, as well as some European imports. Tickets are $35 each, and glasses of wine will be available for an additional charge. This is a fundraising event for the choir in preparation for the January trip to New York’s Carnegie Hall. Food is being provided by Ellen’s Prestige Catering, and will be authentically American.
