Gathering hay after wheat is cut

Gathering the last piece of grain after wheat harvest

Looking at the fields – it was like being back in Kansas

Norma Lee Pipkin in front of one of the roads with big ruts – a road the bus could not go down. So Fr. Julian asked a Kazak man who had come down that road in his car – to take Lana, Jane, Linus, and Charlie to Graf and Herzog to look for names of their ancestors.

We think we found Steinbock relatives. Paulette, Norma & Barbara had the father & son Steinbock between them.  The father born in Rosenberg, Russia in 1937 now lives in Pfeifer, Russia.  The father spoke a little German and had told the villagers that he would come into the village if there were people who spoke German – so a young man on a motor bike offered to go and get him.
