Norma Lee Pipkin in
front of one of the roads with big ruts – a road the bus could not go down.
So Fr. Julian asked a Kazak man who had come down that road in his car – to
take Lana, Jane, Linus, and Charlie to Graf and Herzog to look for names of
their ancestors.

We think we found
Steinbock relatives. Paulette, Norma & Barbara had the father & son
Steinbock between them. The father
born in Rosenberg, Russia in 1937 now lives in Pfeifer, Russia. The father spoke a little German and had
told the villagers that he would come into the village if there were people
who spoke German – so a young man on a motor bike offered to go and get
him.
