Some members share tips on maintaining their Orginals at our meetings. Here are some of the tips that have been offered so far.

Heat/Insulation
Vents	At the base of your house you should have to ventilation holes for the crawl space. For the summer there is a screen that goes over the space. For winter there is a covered one. Adding a piece of foam insulation to the inside of that cover can help keep cold air out of the crawl space.
Stairway Heat	Since heat rises, in the winter months you could find the second floor is warmer than the first. To keep more hot air on the first floor, hang a sheet or curtain across the bottom of the stairway and what will stop the air from climbing the stairway.
Heated Floors	Want inexpensive heated floors on the first floor? Buy a milk house heater and put it in the crawl space. The rising heat will make the floors warm.

Plumbing
Pipe Cleaning	Once a month, sprinkle baking soda around the inside of your sinks. Then take a coffee pot of hot vinegar and baking soda and pour it down your drains. It will help clean the pipes.
Sink Screens	Put basket screens in sinks to reduce waste build-up in the drain pipes.
