Deuce is shown above after winning one of her four majors. Her first was won at 7 months, totally untrained, un-leadbroke and so naughty we couldn't even get a sitting down photo to commemorate the win! She did learn to move nicely on a loose lead but in her entire show career, she never once let me stack her rear! However, her structure, movement and incredible headpiece could not be denied, no matter how she stood. Deuce had only one litter, sired by Ch. Ambrican Lipizzan from which three are finished. In the Fall of 1998, Deuce suffered a ruptured disk in her spine and lost the use of her rear legs. She didn´t let this slow her down any. With the help of her Pet Mobile `wheelchair´, she still led an active and happy life. She died peacefully in her sleep on November 20th in her bed next to the woodstove - one of her favorite places. Now she is running again at the Bridge. |
