An immature Lazar is shown here. Lazar finished easily at a young age with wins which included Winners Dog at the Twin Cities Basset Hound Club Specialty. He is the sire of 3 champions to date. He is very sound with good bone and a lovely head and topline. He is easy-going and gets along well with everyone and everything. He is, however, too smart for his own good. After being promoted to the exalted status of house dog because he was such a good boy, Lazar´s curiosity got the better of him. He began by opening the kitchen cupboard and pulling out the pots and pans, an activity he repeated often. Then he graduated to opening the refrigerator! We came home to find the bottom two shelves and the door empty, and 3 dozen eggs smashed on the floor. He and his co-conspirators had eaten a 24 ounce container of bacon grease (Nugie ended up with pancreatitis), a 2 pound box of Velveeta, a whole bunch of celery, and who knows what else. After that we had to Velcro the refrigerator closed. Then he got into the cupboard under the kitchen sink and pulled out all the cleaning supplies. Fortunately no one got hurt. Then he took to pulling out the large heavy drawer where all the plastic container lids are kept and strewing lids throughout the kitchen. The final straw was knocking over the bottle of bleach and chewing on it just enough for it to leak all over. Lazar Wolf is now enjoying a leisurely retirement in Tucson, Arizona. |
